[Copy] Camp at Harper's ferry July 29. 1800 The bearer Edward Pearson who was enlisted by Lieut. S. Dyson of the Corps of Art. Engineers on the 30^th April 1798, for five years to serve in the Infantry, being too old and infirm to perform the duty of a soldier, particularly on the frontiers, is permitted to report himself to the War office, and having followed the American Standard in the capacity of a private soldier, through the late revolutionary War, and rendered by infirmity as it appears incapable of acquiring a livelihood by labour, is recommended to the notice of Government.
