Memorandum for Doct. Johnston Call upon Capt. Howell in New York for a certified copy of three recei0pts give by Capt Abraham Smith for Maj. Dunlaps pay in the 6 Pennsylvania regiment 1776. Vz. one rec.t for 2 months pay and one rect for one months pay received from Colo. Trubull- also one other rec.t to Mase & Colwell for Two Thousand doll. in which it is presumed the remendor of Dunlaps pay, was included. I would wish Capt. Howal to mention particularly as he did to me that I cannot receive any pay from the public until the last mentioned rect is settled by Abram Smith, then Capt of the Regiment - and who had the settling of the acct Ja.
