Remarks on Major David Hopkins Y^ts Settled with the UStates for pay as Mayor in the 1 Reg L Dragoons — Credits 120 dollars rec^d in 1782 of the US this is a mistake the Sum should be 100 dols Rec^d of L^t P^te Peleau to the 4^th Rec^d. — therefore 20 dols too much — also he Credits 240 dols Rec^d of the US in 1783 this is also a mistake as I do not find any charge against him for that Sum — it Should have been Credited the State of Penns^a as he Rec^d 275 dols from that State being 5½ Mos pay. so that 15 dols still up^on to her Debit. to be disposed either to his Subsistence or to his [undecipherable] Y^ts now produced, for Settlement — If necessary to write to Major Hopkins send the letter to Baltimore — Commission dated [undecipherable: Hosville?] 26 Dec 1782 as Major of the 1 Reg L D.
