Inner Post to be 12 in°. fore and aft to run from the transom to the keel, to be of live oak sided at the head from 20 to 24 in°. and at the keel 12 in°.
Light heads. sided from 14 to 18 in°. moulded 12 in°. at head & 13 in°. below.
Hawse pieces to be 4 in number on each side sided 18 in°. and to be bolted with 1⅛ inch bolts into each other, the
heels if possible to run down below the lower deck breast hook.
Bow timbers. sided 12 inches and as long as possible, their heels will secured into the dead wood. in number on each side as [per] draft.
Hawse holes 2 on each side, 14½ in°. diameter and 13 in°. on a square between each other.
Wing Transom 27 ft 3 in°. long on the aft side moulded and sided 22 in°. to round up and aft 6 in°. all the others sided 14 in°. the lower deck transom moulded as broad as conveniently can be had, for the better securing the ends of the deck plank, 2 bolts of 1⅛ inch diameter in the deck transom and all above it, all below bolted with one bolt of 1⅛ inch diameter.
Fashion pieces 2 pair, sided 12 in°. and moulded 14 in°. on the cant as hereafter directed.
Dead wood forward to secure the scarph of the Stem & keel together, sided the same as the Apron at heel, at the after end 24 in°. and not less than 20 in°. moulded over the scarphs of the keel, and to run sufficiently aft midship dead wood 22 in°. broad and 9 in°. thick to run from the dead wood forward to the Stern post knee well fayed on the keel.
Rabbit of the main keel, ¾ in°. cut one inch below the upper edge, the garboard Streaks to fay well to the dead wood all fore and all. the dead wood to be tarred and [underline: papered] with good thick substantial tarred sheathing paper in order to prevent the Ship from sinking if she should lose her keel.
Stern post knees. 2 good ones the lower one as long as possible.
Floor
Floor and raising timbers of good white oak sided 12½ in°. moulded at the floor firemark 13½ in°. and in the throat from the top of the dead wood 21 in°. to be bolted through the keel with 1⅞ inch bolts; these bolts should be put as near the side of the keel as possible in order to give room on the other side for the kelson bolts, one floor bolted near the larboard side of the keel the other on the Starboard side the timbers all to be double [underline: bolted] from the foremast to within 15 feet of the mizen mast.
Lower futhooks, of live oak sided 12 in°. in the midships and sometimes smaller at the fore and after ends of the Ship, to butt against the side of the dead wood amidships, to have cross checks fayed on the dead wood and their heels to be bolted thro the keelson and keel with 1⅛ inch bolts.

Timbers framed. floor timbers lower futhooks middle, upper and Top timbers all to be framed in frames and bolted with 3 bolts 1⅛ inch Square in each scarph, except the lower futhooks and floors which should have 1¼ inch bolts. these timbers must be faced fair and true for if they are not out of winding it will be impossible to level the timber with any truth.
Main Wales. six Streaks on each side 7 in°. thick and 10 in°. wide[?]

Black Streaks. 5 in number the first and second 5½ inches thick, 3rd 5¾ in°. 4th 5 in°. & the 5th 4⅞ in°. thick, by 10 in°. wide, the upper edge of the black streak to be mitered down to a level in order to carry the water out of the seam; Plank between the black Streak and the String to be 3½ in°. thick.
Thick Work under the wales. first Streak 6 in°. thick, 2nd 5½ in°. 3rd 5 in°. and the 4th 4½ in°. Running plank in the bottom 4 in°. thick, to be not less than 6 feet scarphs nor less than 4 Streaks between every two butts on the same timber; the seams to be made all a little out= gayed.

Pillars or Stantions 3 tier under the Gun deck, and one under the upper deck, made to shift.
Breast hooks. of live oak, 5 in the hold including the deck hook from 18 to 20 feet long if to be had, and bolted in every timber with bolts of 1⅛ inch diameter, as well as thro' the Stem and 2 between decks secured as above; the deck breast hooks moulded as broad as possible in order to give good hold for the deck plank.
Transom Riders. 2 on each side under the lower deck 18 feet long and sided 12 in°. bolted in every other timber with 1⅛ inch bolts.
Diagonal riders 6 pair on each side in three principal pieces with two shorter ones to complete the pair, tabled and bolted together with 6 iron bolts 1¼ inch square in each scarph [strikethrough: and] and three in the short pieces, to be bolted thro' the bottom plank at every 2 feet with 1⅛ inch copper bolts. the two midship ones butt against each other, the foremost of the two midship riders to be cut with a birds mouth and to fit under the 8th beam from forward the after one of the midship ones to be cut and fixed in the same manner under the eighth beam from aft; the other riders to be the distance of two beams

Lodging knees sided 10 in°. body to reach the next beam and arm 6 feet hooked into the beam, to lay 2 in°. below the upper edge of the beam for the water ways and thick Stuff to joggle down to be bolted with 7 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter.
Dagger knees. sided 11 in°. body 9 feet long & arm 7 feet, the arm hooked into the beam and bolted with 8 bolts 1¼ inch diameter.
Lower deck Transom knees. sided 12 in°. body 10½ feet long, arm 7 feet and bolted with 13 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter.
Carlings. in 3 tier. 6 by 9 in°. of white oak.
Ledgers. 5 by 6. 2 between each beam.
Mast Carlings, for the main and foremast 10 by 13 in°. to be kneed with four good knees, mizon carlings 6 by 12 in°. and kneed in the same manner, all of which pieces to be of live oak and bolted with inch bolts and with ⅞ inch bolts. gun deck carlings the same size and secured in the same manner.
Spur Beam one of live oak on each side of the main hatch tabled kneed and bolted on the fore side of the beam, on the after part of the main hatch 12 in°. by 13 in°. and for gun deck the same.
Solid Water ways if good long substantial white oak worked with a feint hollow rabbited ⅛ inch above the deck
allowing 2 inches to be let down on the beams, a good 6 inch dark Streak joggled 2 in°. into the edge of the water way, and into and over the beams and ledges for the gun deck, a 5½ inch Streak for the lower deck and a 5 inch Streak for the upper deck all joggled in the same way, and bolted thro' the side every 4 feet and thro' every beam with 1⅛ inch bolts, upper deck with inch bolts.
Thick Streaks on lower decks. 2 streaks of white oak plank 5½ in°. thick and not less than 10 in°. wide bolted and joggled into each other and over and into the beams and ledges 2 in°. running all fore and aft alongside the hatches. 2 other Streaks on each side filled as above midway between the water ways and hatch Streaks, a long white oak fence to be fayed at the end of each pair to be joggled over 2 beams well bolted to the bow and Stem with 1⅛ inch bolts and 2 other white oak knees to run from the Mizen mast to the Stern post joggled over and into each beam to be let down on the beams sufficient for the ledges to frame into them, one other to reach from the Stem to the foremast worked in the same manner; the arm part of each knee to be well bolted thro the Stem and post with 1⅛ inch bolts.
Lower deck plank. to a 3½ in°. thick of the best heart [pitch] pine clear of all defects whatever.
orlop deck to be laid 6 ft. 2 in°. below the upper part of the lower deck, beams of the best heart pitch pine sided 12 in°. & moulded 10 in°. laid with 2 inch common [plank] kneed with one good live oak knee at each end, bolted with inch bolts. it will be best to [put] the [Clamps] on the ceiling 3 in°. thick.

Spirkettings. 2 Streaks on each side on lower deck 3 in°. thick hooked and joggled into each other filling in plank between the list and Clamps 4 in°. thick.

Gun deck beams. one under each port and one between of the best heart pitch pine as near as the Hatchiways and masts will admit as [per] draft. sided 18 in°. and moulded 13 in°. all other beams to be laid directly over and under the same.

Stem in two pieces if to be had, the lower one of good white oak sided 17 in°. and moulded not less than 12 in°. clear of the rabbit scarphs not less than 4 feet to be tabled and bolted with 3 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter.
Apron sided from 28 to 30 in°. at the upper end & as the piece will work below moulded at the upper end 13 in°. and at the lower end 17 in°.
Stern post 18 in°. square at the head, sided 17 in°. below by 3½ ft. fore and aft including false post & 10 in°. thick on the aft side at the keel to be fitted for a crooked headed rudder.
Inner Post to be 12 in°. fore and aft to run from the transom to the keel, to be of live oak sided at head from 20 to 24 in°. & at keel 12 inches.
Light heads. sided from 16 to 18 in°. moulded 12 in°. at head and 14 in°. below.
Hawse pieces to be 4 in number on each side sided 18 in°. and to be bolted with 1⅛ inch bolts into each other, then heels if possible to run down below the lower deck breast hook.
Bow timbers, sided 12 in°. and as long as possible, their heels will secured into the dead wood, to be in number on each side as [per] draft.
Hawse
Hawse holes. 2 on each side 15 inches diameter and 14 in°. on a square between each other.
Wing Transom. 29 feet long on the aft side moulded and sided 22 in°. to round up and aft 6 in°. all the others sided 14 in°. the lower deck transom moulded as broad as can conveniently be had, for the better securing the ends of the deck plank, 2 bolts of 1½ inch diameter in the deck transom & all above it all below bolted with one bolt of 1½ inch diameter.
Fashion pieces. 2 pair, sided 12 in°. and moulded 13 in°. on the cant as hereafter directed.
Dead wood forward to secure the scarphs of the Stem & keel together, sided the same as the Apron at heel, at the after end 24 in°. & not less than 20 in°. moulded over the scarph of the keel and to run sufficiently aft. midship dead wood 24 in°. broad and 9 in°. thick to run from the dead wood forward to the Stern post knee well fayed on the keel.
Rabbit of the main keel, to be cut 1 inch below the upper edge, the garboard Streaks to fay well to the deadwood all fore and aft the dead wood to be larred and papered with good thick substantial larred sheathing paper in order to prevent the Ship from sinking if she should lose her keel.
Stern post knees. 2 good ones, the lower one as long as possible.
Floor and raising timbers. of good white oak sided 12½ in°. moulded at the floor firemark 13 in°. and in the throat from the top of the dead wood 21 in°. to be bolted through the keel with 1⅞ inch bolts. those bolts should be put as near the side of the keel as possible in order to give room on the other side for the keelson bolts, one floor bolted near the larboard side of the keel; the other on the starboard side, the timbers all to be double bolted from the foremast to within 10 feet of the mizon mast.
Lower Futhooks. of live oak sided 12 inches in the midships & something smaller at the fore and after ends of the ship, to butt against the side of the dead wood amidships, to have cross chocks fayed on the dead wood and their heels to be bolted thro' the keelson & keel with 1⅛ inch bolts.
Middle & } { Top timbers moulded at the gun wale 9 in°. at the port all
upper Futh- } sided 11½ inches { 9 in°. all the other timbers sizes by a diminishing line from the
hooks and } { port all to the floor firemark to which is 13 in°.
Top Timbers }
Timbers framed. floor timbers lower futhooks middle, upper and Top timbers all to be framed in frames and bolted with 3 bolts 1⅛ inch Square in each scarph, except the lower futhooks and floors which should have 1¼ inch bolts. the timbers must be faced fair and true for if they are not out of winding it will be impossible to level the timber with any truth.
Main wales. six Streaks on each side 7 in°. thick & 10 in°. wide.
Black Streaks. 5 in number the first & second 5½ in°. thick, 3rd 5¾ in°. 4th 5 in°. and the 5th 4½ in°. thick by 10 in°. wide. the upper edge of the black Streak to be mitered down to a level in order to carry the water out of the seam. blank between the black Streak & string to be 3½ in°. thick.
Thick work under the wale. 1st Streak 6 in°. thick 2nd 5½ in°. 3rd 5 in°. and the 4th 4½ in°. running plank in the bottom 4 in°. thick to be not less than 6 feet scarphs nor less than 4 Streaks between every two butts on the same timber the seams to be made all a little out gaged and great care must be taken to bevel both edges of the plank that comes together alike; for if one edge is hewn standing the other must be under, which makes bad work, the plank with the under levelling will caulk off.
Bilge } 1 of 6 inches thick { on each side the middle Streak to cover the
Streaks } 2 of 5½ d°. { butts of the timbers equally, inside and out
outside } 2 of 4½ d°. { to be reduced fore and after ends the same as
{ the running plank.
Inside Work.
Timber Streaks. 2 on each side 6 inches thick and 14 in°. wide.
Bilge Streaks. 3 on each side 6 in°. thick & 14 in°. wide to be bolted thro' the outside bilge Streak in every 3d timber with 1 inch bolts.
Running Ceiling plank. 4 in°. thick.
Lower deck Clamps. 2 Streaks on each side 5 in°. thick & 1 Streak 11/14 in°. all hooked and joggled into each other with hooks, not less than 2 in°. reduced at fore and after ends.
Steps of Masts. The fore Step to be placed between 2 breasthooks, the main Step to be left so as to be set either forward or aft as occasion may require. Mizon Step to be 2 crotches the arms of which ought to run up as high as possible.
Pillars or Stantions. 3 tier under the Gun deck and one under the upper deck made to Shift.
Breasthooks of live oak, 5 in the hold including the deck hook from 18 to 20 feet long if to be had and bolted in every timber with bolts of 1⅛ inch diameter, as well as thro' the Stem and 2 between decks secured as above. the deck breasthooks moulded as broad as possible in order to give good hold for the deck plank.
Transom Riders. 2 on each side under the lower deck 18 feet long and sided 12 in°. bolted in every other timber with 1⅛ inch bolts.
Diagonal Riders. Six pair on each side in three principal pieces with two shorter ones to complete the pair, tabled and bolted together with 6 iron bolts 1⅛ inch square in each scarph & three in the Short pieces to be bolted thro' the bottom
plank
plank at every 2 feet with 1⅛ inch copper bolts. the two midship ones to butt against each other, the foremost of the two midship riders to be cut with a birdmouth and to fit under the 8th beam from forward; the after one of the midship ones to be cut and fixed in the same manner under the 8th beam from aft. the other riders to be the distance of 2 beams apart and filled in the same manner, to be kept the same distance aft and forward at heel as they are at the head, to be tenoned and bolted into the keelson.
Lower deck beams of the best heart pitch pine sided 16 in°. & moulded 14 in°. the longest beam to spring 6 in°. and the rest by the same moulds.
Lodging knees. sided 10 in°. body to reach the next beam and arm 6 feet hooked into the beam, to lay 2 in°. below the upper edge of the beam for the water ways & thick stuff to joggle down to be bolted with 7 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter.
Dagger Knees. sided 11 in°. body 9 feet long & arm 7 feet. the arm hooked into the beam and bolted with 8 bolts 1¼ inch diameter.
Lower deck Transom knees. sided 12 in°. body 10½ feet long, arm 7 feet and bolted with 13 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter.
Carlings. in 3 tier. 6 by 9 inches of white Oak.
Ledges. 5 by 6 d°. 2 between each beam.
Mast Carlings, for the main and foremast 10 by 13 in°. to be kneed with 4 good knees. Mizon carlings 6 by 12 in°. & kneed in the same manner, all of which pieces to be of live oak & bolted with inch bolts & ⅞ bolts. gun deck carlings the same size & secured in the same manner.
Spur Beam one of live oak on each side of the main hatch tabled kneed and bolted on the fore side of the beam
beam on the after part of the main hatch 12 in°. by 14, and for gun deck the same.
Solid Waterways. of good long substantial white oak worked with a feint hollow rabbited 1⁄16 inch above the deck, allowing 2 in°. to be let down upon the beams, a good 6 inch Streak joggled 2 in°. into the edge of the waterway and into and over the beams and ledges; for the gun deck a 5½ inch Streak, for the lower deck and a 5 inch Streak for the upper deck, all joggled in the same way and bolted thro' the side every 4 feet & thro' every beam with 1⅛ inch bolts; upper deck with inch bolts.
Third Streaks. on lower deck 2 Streaks of white oak plank 5½ in°. thick and not less than 10 in°. wide, bolted and joggled into each other & over and into the beams and ledges 2 in°. running all fore and aft alongside of the hatches. two other Streaks on each side filled as above midway between the waterways & hatch Streaks. a long white oak knee to be fayed at the end of each pair, to be joggled over 2 beams well bolted to the bow or Stem with 1⅛ inch bolts and 2 other white oak knees to run from the Mizon mast to the Stern post joggled over and into each beam to be let down on the beams sufficient for the ledges to frame into them, one other to reach from the Stem to the foremast worked in the same manner. the arm part of each knee to be well bolted thro the Stem & post with 1⅛ inch bolts.
lower deck plank. to be 3½ in°. thick of the best heart pitch pine clear of all defects whatever.
Orlop deck to be laid 6 ft. 2 in°. below the upper part of the lower deck, beams of the best heart pitch pine, sided 12 in°. and moulded 10 in°. laid with 2 inch common plank; kneed with

with one good live oak knee at each end, bolted with inch bolts. it will be best to put the Clamps on the ceiling 3 in°. thick.
Spirkettings. 2 Streaks on each side on lower deck 3 in°. thick hooked and joggled into each other filling in plank between the list and Clamps 4 inches thick.
Gun deck Clamps. 2 Streaks on each side 3 in°. thick & one 4½ in°. joggled into each other 2 inches.
Gun deck beams. One under each port and one between of the best heart pitch pine as near as the hatchways & masts will admit as [per] draft. sided 18 in°. Moulded 15 in°. all other beams to be laid directly over & under the same.
Handard knees. 12 on each side on the lower deck, one to be fayed over each beam the diagonal rider comes under, and the others placed amidships, sided 13 in°. body to reach the upper edge of gun deck Clamps the arm 6 feet long bolted with 8 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter.
Gun deck Lodging knees. sided 10 in°. body to reach the next beam; arm 6 feet long bolted with 7 bolts of 1⅛ in°. diameter hooked and joggled into the beam.
Hanging knees. 7 feet body & 6 feet arm, sided 11 in°. bolted with 8 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter the arms of all knees to be hooked & joggled into their respective beams.
Gun deck Transom knees. sided 12 in°. body 12 feet long arm 7 feet bolted with 12 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter.
Carlings in 3 tier. 6 by 9 inches of white oak.
Ledges. 5 by 6 in°. of white oak 2 between each beam.
Plank. 4 in°. thick, six feet from the side of the best white oak clear of all Sap & other defects whatever, the rest to be laid of the best heart pitch pine, clear of all Sap and other defects whatsoever.
Spirketting
Spirketting, to reach the port cill and 5 inches thick all scarphs should be kept clear of the ports all butts well shifted.
Filling in plank between the Spirketting & Clamps 3 in°. thick.
Wing Transom knees. sided 13 in°. body 14 feet long and arm 8 feet bolted with 14 bolts 1⅛ inch diameter.
Thick Streaks on the gun deck. 2 Streaks white oak plank 6 in°. thick and not less than 10 in°. wide, bolted & joggled into each other, and over & into the beams & ledges 2 in°. running all fore and aft alongside of the hatches. 2 other Streaks on each side filled as above, midway between the water way and hatch Streaks.
Upper deck.
Clamps. 2 Streaks on each side 4 in°. thick hooked and joggled into each other.
Beams. placed over the gun deck beams sided 13.11/16 in°. and moulded of the best heart pitch pine.
Quarter deck Transom. 10 by 10. one knee at each end, sided 8 in°. body and arm 6 feet & bolted with 8 bolts 1 inch diameter.
Lodging knees. sided 7½ in°. body to reach the next beam, arm 3 to 4½ feet hooked & joggled into every beam and bolted with 7 bolts 1 inch diameter.
Hanging knees. sided 8 in°. body 6½ feet & arm 5 feet bolted with 8 bolts 1 inch diameter and hooked and joggled to the beams.
Carlings. 3 tier except where the long comings are 5 by 8 inches white oak.
Ledges. 4½ by 6 in°. white oak. 2 between each beam.
Mast comings. to be of good white oak, as well as the Hatch comings; those for the main & foremast should be at least 6 in°. clear of the mast all round in order to give room
for
for the mast to play and more particularly for heaving down, the mizon partner need not exceed 3 inches clear.
Plank for deck. 3 inches thick, five feet of which must be laid with oak from the side, the rest of the best heart pitch pine plank.
Long comings. of heart pitch pine 10 by 7½ in°. to be kept wide enough apart to take down the boat & room alongside for the men to pass from the gun to the upper deck.
Stemson. of live oak sided 17½ in°. & moulded 10 in°. to shift the scarphs of Stem & Apron, to reach the upper deck breast hook.
Leaden Scuppers. on each side on the gun deck cut elliptical 4½ by 6 inches.
Seat Transom. across the Stern the height of the port cill to be joggled into the counter timbers 9 in°. thick and kneed at each end with one iron knee to fay along under the gallery door, long enough to receive 3 bolts before it of 1 inch diameter; the athwartship arm 4 feet to be bolted with 3 bolts 1 inch diameter.
Counter timbers. of live oak sided at the lower part of the windows and heel 11 in°. at the upper end 6 in°. to be filled in from the lower part of the window to the wing transom with red cedar, except in the wake of the gun room ports.
Cable Bitts. 2 pair of good tough strong white oak 22 in°. square and to taper below the lower deck beams to 16 in°. crosspieces to be 22 in°. fore and aft and 20 in°. deep, to have a Standard knee against each bitt, sided 14 inches to run forward over 3 beams and scored down over each 2 inches, the arm to run to the upper side of the crosspiece.
