With respect to the distribution of the Clothing — The General says that in future he will direct it to be packed up and addressed to companies, and in that case original appropriations shall be scrupulously attended to — but that the deviations from the original intention this Season was absolutely necessary. The Quarter Master General says that any compensation I may be entitled to for services in the Ordnance & clothing departments, is or ought to be obtained of you, as he says you annually make a requisition for a certain Sum to enable you to discharge the several claims of people employed in the Ordnance department — And of the several people stated in your annual estimate is a Commissary of Military Stores at Pittsburgh — Please to inform me whether the Q.
