Samuel Weeks agent of Fortifications at Portland in his accounts exhibited at this Office for expenditures on account of the Fortifications at Said place, charges 5 p C.t on the sum of Six thousand two hundred twenty nine Dollars & fifty three Cents being the amount of his disbursements from the date of his appointment in 1798 up to the 16 January last, as a commission for making the Said disbursements & for Superintending the Works, you will therefore be pleas'd to inform me what compensation he is to be allowed for Said services,
