The accounting account has been examined & such of the Contingent charges as were admissible have been allowed to his credit leaving a balance in the States Office of Oct 1799 [undecipherable]. The accounts for his pay [undecipherable] & I return to you inclosed as never before to be filled at your Office, from the amount of which your credit debits the [undecipherable] balance & [undecipherable] this Office with the usual certificate to that effect — James [undecipherable] W.S. The Secretary of War February 3^d 1801 Sir, The actual amount of [undecipherable: James Sargent's?] accounts, certain of his persons [undecipherable] by the United States in the state of [undecipherable] were presented for settlement by his Agent Chas [undecipherable] of [undecipherable].
