Claypoole Accountants" Office Philadelphia December 31 1800 Sir I have received your letter dated the 18" Inst with the annexed account for printing done for this Department, I return it to you & request as the Records of the Office are consumed by which I could be furnished with the necessary infor- - mation that you will attest to the account. The oath to set forth that you were directed to publish the advertisements therein charged, & that the rates so charged are agreeably to established allowances for like services - The charge for your paper furnished the War Office must be made in a separate account - and forwarded to the Secretary - who will direct it to be paid out of a special fund appropriated for his Office I am &E WS.
