James O Hara Esq^r.                                      December 20^th 1800 City of Washington Sir On the 3^d Instant you were furnished with a Statement of your accounts under your Contracts of 1796. 1797 & 1798, shewing the balances due by you under each Contract (exclusive of Interest) amounting in the aggregate to One hundred & twenty eight thousand, nine hundred & sixty three dollars & 97/100. — Your letter of the 13^th Inst^t. calls for a Statement of the deductions made on the adjustment of the said accounts which I now inclose (amounting to one hundred forty eight thousand, seven hundred & twenty dollars 60/100) with remarks thereon to enable you according to law to appeal to the Comptroller of the Treasury, agreeably to your desire — I am &c W.S.
