[Page number: 320] The Sec^y of War Accountants Office &c December 12^th 1800 Dear my have to you of yesterday in reply to yours of the 11^th on the subject of M^r O'Hara's acc^t I have recived amount from him amounting of his statement to forty seven thousand nine hundred [undecipherable] dollars & [undecipherable] I must however observe that account an investigation which would take up a considerable time I cannot determine on the propriety or impropriety of the vouchers — Sam^ple W^t Col^o Francis Munford December 16^th 1800 Agent of Fortifications Sir Your account of expenditures between the 5^th Aug^t & 29 Nov^r last on account of the fortifications at [undecipherable] on the River Delaware have been examined & the amount thereof being six thousand three hundred eighty one dollars & [undecipherable]/100 directed to your order on the Books of this Office leaving a balance of five thousands two hundred fifty seven dollars & [undecipherable]/100 due from you to the U. S. — In the amount directed to your [undecipherable] is included the sum of twelve dollars being the amount of M^r Delany's Bill dated 23 Aug^t 1800 which not receipted by him (a Copy of which is inclosed) it is therefore requested that you will obtain his rec^t & forward it to this Office — [undecipherable] W^t
