Sir,
I have received your letter of the 3d Instant and have passed my Warrant in your favor for Ten Thousand Dollars agreeable to your request of the 1st Ulto.
If Kennedy & Koehler give satisfactory proof of their having been retained in Service after the disbandment as alledged, you may pay them agreeable to the rate of regular service.
Your Accounts will as usual be sent to the Accountant of the War Department for settlement and no alterations will for the present be made in the regulation of the duties required of you by existing Instructions
