Sam: Hodgson Esq: December 10^th 1800 Philad: Sir James O Hara Esq: has exhibited a charge against the United States for 20 Barrels of Pork delivered to Adam McDonalds at Miamitownances in the 29 May 1791, as appears by his receipt he states that McDonalds was as assistant Commissary at that time, & that he became his Agent on the 1 June 1797 after the Contract of 1796 (& of course the Commissary Department) had closed. I therefore request that you will have referred to the accounts of Mr. McDonalds with the Commissary General & ascertain the fact - as well as the application of the Pork by McDonalds for my information, which I wish to receive as early as possible.
