December 6 1800 Sir— You having had the farming of the Contracts in the State of North Carolina, for the Year 1800 many of which are involved in apparent & apparently militates against each other. I have thought it the proper person to [undecipherable] the apparent contradictions which appear in those which have come to hand. Viz— a contract [undecipherable] on the 24 May 1800 with [undecipherable: Dan Wheaton?] for all & every [undecipherable] in the State of N.C. from the 1^st day of Jan^y 1800 (which of course [undecipherable] over 6 months) to the [undecipherable] following, at 16¼ Ct [undecipherable] [undecipherable]; this being a general Contract [undecipherable] other could be [undecipherable]; yet there appears to be [undecipherable] for part of the same [undecipherable] & [undecipherable] [undecipherable]— Same [undecipherable] with you in [undecipherable] at [undecipherable] in Jan^y & Feb^y to March 1800, but [undecipherable] [undecipherable]— [undecipherable] with [undecipherable] perhaps there was no [undecipherable] here for [undecipherable] at Salisbury from 1 Jan^y to 31 May 1800— Robert Hall account exhibited at this Office appears to have been [undecipherable], under his Contract of the Year 1799 to all the [undecipherable] in N.C. for the first 3 or 4 months of the Year 1800—
