[General Orders Dec 1. 1800. [undecipherable] Col. Burbeck to [undecipherable] and of [undecipherable] [undecipherable] Burbeck] GENERAL ORDERS. HEAD QUARTERS, City of Washington, *December 1*^st, 1800. THE officers commanding districts on the sea-board, and the frontier of Georgia, are to report to, and receive orders from, Lieutenant Colonel Commandant Burbeck, pending the General's absence from the seat of government, at which place the Colonel will take up his quarters, and will furnish returns of ordnance and military stores quarterly to the Secretary of War. The commanding officers of fort Johnston in North-Carolina, taken from Major Ford's battalion, and of fort M^cHenry in Maryland, taken from Major Porter's, are, for the sake of promptitude and convenience, to report directly to Colonel Burbeck, and receive his orders until the General's return. Lieutenant Colonels Commandant Gaither, Butler, and Burbeck, are authorized to constitute general courts martial within their respective commands, until further orders. The Inspector is to furnish the Secretary of War with monthly abstracts of the troops in service, and quarterly returns of whatever may appertain to his department and that of Adjutant General. He is to receive regular reports from all recruiting parties, and to see them supplied with money, provisions, clothing, arms, &c. for which purpose he will make the necessary applications to the Secretary of War, the Quarter Master General, the Pay Master General, and the Contractor. Commanding officers of districts are to see that clothing returns for the ensuing year, for the companies and non-commissioned staff officers under their command, are furnished to the regimental Pay Masters without loss of time, agreeably to the general order of the 30th ultimo.
