Colo Hughes [underline: writes] to me under date of the 17th instant that he had then ready for examination at the Cecil Furnace Eighty five Cannon made under Contract with the Department, and requests that they may be proved, you will therefore be pleased to proceed to the Furnace for that purpose as soon as you can consistently with your present arrangements of which you will immediately inform Colo Hughes
