[To Colonel Toussard] War Department 22^d November 1800 Sir Col^o Hughes writes to me under date of the 17^th instant that he had then ready for examination at the Cecil Furnace Eighty five Cannon made under Contract with the Department, and requests that they may be proved, you will therefore be pleased to proceed to the Furnace for that purpose as soon as you can consistantly with your present arrangements of which you will immediately inform Col^o Hughes As he states that about 2000 lbs of Powder in addition to what is now at the works will be requisite I enclose you an order therefor. — I am Sir &^c
