[4] Capt Ch^a Hyde 1 U.S. Reg^t Georgetown Accountants' Office November 19, 1800 Sir Recent instructions receiv'd from the Comptroller of the Treasury make it absolutely necessary that persons who have receiv'd public monies which remain unaccounted for should immediately render & settle their accounts— the situation of your accounts I need not remind you of; You have been too frequently call'd upon still to continue uninformed of the consequences of a non compliance. I therefore take this opportunity of once more calling to your mind the frequent applications which have been made to you for a settlement & should this request (as all former ones have) fail of its effect I shall report your case to the Comptroller of the Treasury & Secretary of War without delay.
