Wilmington N.C.                                    Novem^r 10. 1800 Sir On the 16 Ulto: I acknowledged the rec^t of yours of the 1 Oct. together with the accounts & vouchers for your supplies at same time I requested the authority or contract which you have been acting under — I am yet without your reply — The object of the present is to inform you that by an unfortunate fire many of the abstracts to your accounts have been rendered. I have therefore to request that you will forward the duplicates of all your vouchers which in any instance I observed were taken by yourself as Agent — In expectation of your speedy compliance — Sam [undecipherable] W[undecipherable] Caleb Swan Esq^r.                                                        November 10. 1800 & &c & Sir Owing to the unfortunate accident of destroying last year of the vouchers belonging to your accounts were destroyed — as the examination of your accounts must [undecipherable] be suspended you would of them.
