By the President of the United States of America Whereas Stephen G Simmons first Lieutenant in the United States Cavalry was by a General Court Martial lately holden at Philadelphia tried on Sundry Charges for Malconduct exhibited against him and sentenced to be dismissed from the Service of the United States and to receive other punishments, which proceedings and Sentence after having been considered by the President of the United States and before any Order made by him thereon were returned to the War Office and therein Consumed by Fire on the evening of the eighth of November One thousand eight hundred. The President Orders that the said Stephen G Simmons be dismissed from the Service of the United States and he is dismissed accordingly.
