By the President of the United States of America Whereas John Bishop Cornet in the second U.S. Regiment of Artillerists & Engineers was by a General Court Martial lately holden at Philadelphia tried on Sundry Charges for malconduct exhibited against him and sentenced to be dismissed from the Service of the United States and to receive other punishments, which proceedings and Sentence after having been considered by the President of the United States and before any Order made by him thereon were returned to the War Office and therein Consumed by Fire on the evening of the 8^th November one thousand eight hundred. The President Orders that the said John Bishop be dismissed from the Service of the United Sta[tes] and he is dismissed accordingly.
