Having visited Govr Mifflin with the Secretary of War to day I did not receive your letter of the 1st untill so late to make a lengthy reply — The return and vouchers which accompanied your letter will be examined and such information given as the circumstances may require — If morrow I attend the Secretary to view the great Public Buildings erecting on Junipile after which he is to dine with one — your business shall be attended to — When Mr Gary returns forward my best respects to him — The President is expected here to morrow or next day — The Secretary will accompany him to the New City —
