445 Pittsburg 10th October 1800 Sir, Your favor of the 3 instant is the moment come to hand enclosing the clothing Vouchers sent to you formerly inadvertently I had not forgot your account against Capt Turner and shall shortly have an opportunity of obtaining payment of him - Neither the General nor Q.M. gen yet arrived - the troops continue in their encampment - no orders yet, either for going into Garrison or Cantonment - We apprehend that our approaching election will be attended with considerable warmth. Parties appear nearly equal and determined - I have this day transmitted to the Secretary of War a return of Ordinance Stores and clothing & by next post shall transmit a similar return to you accompanied by Abstracts and Vouchers. I am Sir you obedient Servant PS Capt Turner wishes to be informed whether you know any thing of a small box brought by one Doct Howson from London to New York, & to be forwarded to your care - he says you sent him six weeks since the letter brought by said Doct H. - IC.
