Mr Mlso Humphreys late Contractor has exhibits at this Office for settlement a transit amount of large sums, there is for building 27 huts, amounting to Drs 436 — together with a charge of Drs 41.62, for rent of Blacksmiths Shop, Utensils & other house at the fact of which you have testified that the troops "were thus first under cover at this Station (Hamleton) by order of Major General Hamilton" — as no such order has been admitted as is required by the Secretary of was that it must be produced before it can merit his approbation, I have therefore to request your compliance with such additional remarks as you may be pleased to communicate, at the same time I could wish to be informed from whence arose the charge for those huts, when Butler had never built & what were done with them but on leaving the Station —
