Sir, In your Leter of the 27th ulto you advised of your intention of forwarding on the Monday following Two thousand Dollars in four Pert Nots of five hun Drs each of course they became due last thursday the 2d inst. I have wrote you every day since that they has not come to hand — & requested a Cheik might be made at the Bank to stop payment on said Nots, provided they were presented for that purpose — I am apprehensive these Nots have been stolen; — if they were forwarded at the time fixed on — they must have come to hand before this — Even if they had taken the route to Boston —. I wish you would inform me as soon as possible what measures you have taken to guard against their being paid at the Bank.
