Octo^r 6 1800 Sir I have received your letter dated the 17^th [undecipherable] with its enclosures — the papers relative to the pay of William Dupont appear to me to be sufficient to authorize a settlement for the balance of Pay due him — the advance of his pay for the 4 Nov^r 1791 was [undecipherable] in the hands of Cap^t [undecipherable: Barbee?] to whom application must be made therefor His pay from 5 Nov^r 1791 to the 26 June 1794, agreeable to the statement annexed, which you will pay to him or his Attorney taking the [undecipherable] receipts.
