[Addressed to: W.^s Samuel [undecipherable] / [undecipherable] / Philadelphia] [Endorsed: Received / No. [undecipherable] / From [undecipherable] / [undecipherable] 1810] [Filing number: 195] New Port Sept. 18: 1800 Sir I have your fav. of 5 Ins. before me — The twelve thousand five hundred Musket Cartiges are in the Powder house of this Town & the five hundred Muskits in twenty arm Chests from Springfield are in a Store provided for that purpose in good order I have also three thousand five hundred Muskets in 144 new Chests from the Several Contractors who made them in Said Store in good order & for which I have given them duplicate receipts at the different times when they were delivered to me — I have not received any directions respecting any of them only from the Secretary of War to receive & keep them in good Order until further Order I have not any other Militia Stores in my possession but expect more arms from the Contractors in a Short time I am with respect Your Obed Serv.
