your letter of the 4th Instant inclosing [undecipherable]
the Bill on Genl Wilkinson, and the accompanying papers [undecipherable]
[undecipherable]ceived this morning— I waited on the Genl and his answer
[undecipherable] was— That he had written to Mr Stevens relative to a
sum of One hundred & fifty Dollars, and another of forty—
the former the amt of a Note, and the latter a sum
Mr Stevens is to credit him with— that on [undecipherable]
credited with those two sums he was ready [undecipherable]
pay the Balance according to the terms of
the Bill— that he expected to hear from Mr
Stevens on the Subject in a Day or two— and
in the mean time requested me to mention
the circumstances as I have above Stated to you.
