Sir The Treasurer of the U States will remit you the a sum of Fifty eight dollars & 9/100, to be by you paid to Rob^t Howe late Contractor at Wilmington N.C. for monies expended by him for the purchase of Medicines between the months of Jan^y & Oct. 1799 for the use of the Sicke of Fort Johnston and for apprehendig returning a Deserter from Said Post in Sep^r 1799 which sum you will please pay him upon his granting you the necessary receipts — Sam Ho W.S. Sir September 8^th 1800 I have this day made a settlement of your claim for medicines purchased between the months of Jan^y & Oct. 1799, for the men of the Sicke at Fort Johnston and for money paid for apprehending a deserter from said Post — in Sep^r 1799 amounting to some statement to D^rs 59 9/100, from which has been deducted an error in the addition of 30/Cents and of $1/00 D^rs leaving a balance of D^rs 58.80 which sum you will receive from I.
