[244.] Mess^rs Elijah & Simon House Hebron Conn^t Accountants Office Aug^t 30^th 1800 Gentlemen I have to inform you of the settlement of your account of supplies against the United States, in the State of Connecticut, between 1 April & 30 June 1800, & of the admission of the four vouchers which were rejected on the settlement of the 12^th May last, being for Rations, barrack hire & Whiskey furnished the 13^d Reg^t between 4 Dec^r 1799 & 30^th March 1800; on the whole of which you claimed a balance of D^rs 829.— but from which I have deducted the 80 Rations drawn by A Nearing, upon the return of Lieut^t Allen, it being only a copy of the original return, and there being no certificate from Lieut Allen, to shew that said Nearing had not drawn 90 Ration upon another return of the same time as was required by my letter of the 12 May 1800 at 15 Cents ...............
