I have received Your letter of the 15th inst I am this morning informed That Colo Ohara is Engaged in settling his Accounts at Washington where he will continue until that Business is completed therefore will not be in Your City before the middle of next month. I mention this to shew That I have Still to depend on You for the Diamonds and in addition to that I have an other favour to ask viz. Enquire at No 203 S. Front Street for William Price he is a Glass Manufacturer lately from England and is said to be eminent in his profession. he has Expressed a Wish to Come to Pittsburgh. Should he want Some Small assistance to Enable him to Come forward you I am sure will be kind enough to give it him—
I have transmitted herewith a Return of Ordnance Stores & Clothing for April May & June 1800. and that by next post I send you Returns Abstracts & Vouchers of [I]ssue of Military Department, for Octr Novem & Decem 1798 for all the Year 1799 and for Six months of this present Year. The whole of these papers are now ready Except That I have yet to make Copies of Stores sent forward. the Originals being delivered to the Dt Gent. these Invoices including Stores in 2 Masters as well as in Military Department —
Your intimacy & good Understanding with the Secretary of War revives my hopes with respect to my former Claim — You will by the Returns see That the Article Powder is nearly Expended — frequent applications has been made to me by owners of Powder Mills to furnish & deliver at this place any Quantity. That might be wanted for the Use of the United States at a moderate price — I am Sir Your Obd
