[Docket notation: Isaac Craig, Pittsburgh, Aug^t 1800] Pittsburgh 16^th Aug^t 1800 Sir I have received Your letter of the 6^th instant Enclos'd with one address'd to Gen^l Gibson together with a Waggon Receipt, or a Box also address'd to him, which Shall be taken care of on its arrival but it will be inconvenient to Pay the transportation at this place agreeably to arrangements made by the [undecipherable] Gen^l and Gen^l Gibson left this place on the 1^st of June destined for Vincennes in the [undecipherable] — The [undecipherable] Gen^l sets off tomorrow for Washington City to meet the Commander in Chief & Secretary of War & expected to see M^r Simmons — I am sorry That Col O'Hara has not arived & sent off the Diamonds which are much wanted — With respect to Quantity of Powder on hand I presume You must have had your Eye to my Return of Jan^y 1799, since which time that Quantity is Reduced to [undecipherable] the first of July which will Appear on my Return of Ordnance Stores transmintted to the Secretary of War & which I Expected would have been sent from the War Office to you M^r Tracey is preparing to set out on Monday next for Presquisle or Detroit — I Shall be Glad to see the Brotherin-law of the Governor of Missisiphi Territory and Shall Certainly Endeavour to render his Stay here as agreeable as posible — No News at present in this Quarter Except that the Farmer Blessed with Crops uncommonly plentifull & are Complaining for want of a Market — I am Sir Your Obedient Servant Isaac Craig [Address: Sam^l Hodgdon Esq^r, Philadelphia]
