Att. enclosing your accounts of monies disbursed on account of the 16 Reg^t which will be placed under examination & the result duly communicated to you — Sam R. [initials] M^r John Pollard, August 12^th 1800 Trident — Sir The accountant of the War Department being absent it has become my duty to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated the 2^d inst^t with the bundel within — the contents thereof being of a nature which comes immediately under the notice of M^cSimmons & requires his decision I shall lay the letter before him on his return and a communication will be made to you of the result of his examination — Sam R.
