Should Col^d Shara not arrive previous to the receipt of this be pleased to Send half a Dozen of the best You can find by the Post Rider — I had Suspected that there was a misunderstanding between the Dell Gen^l & some of the Branches of the War Department & had Suspected that he was not well pleased with Your perhaps I have been mistaken — he has made Such Alterations in the Department That I Assure You my Dear Friend my Duty is become avery disagreeable & were it not That I have yet Some hopes of obtaining the Amount of my former Claims by Continuing in Service I Should have resigned my Charge.
