S. Sir The Secretary of War has handed me your letter of 29 June 1800 with its enclosure. At the time I forwarded the Pay master General with the account enclosing the Stoppages to be made for the supposed over allowance of wood drawn for this case, the General order (under date of the 29 January 1800 extending) this allowance of proof: the cadet was not then known at this office. I therefore considered it my duty to make the stop I did
