B — July 11 1800 Sir I have you herewith a statement of the balances remaining in the hands of Lieut Men & [undecipherable] of the 1^st Reg^t of the 6 our settlement of his accounts amounting to give orders for for which from you will allow to hold him accountable — [undecipherable] [undecipherable] the Secretary of War July 11^th 1800 Sir In reply to the several questions contained in your order of the 4^th inst^t on the subject of the Quarter Master Generals accounts I have to state: that the Quarter Master General has no open account on the books of my Office as follows — Amount of monies transferred from the books of the Treasury for balance & sundry warrants made to him from the Treasury Department previous to advances being made from this Dep^t [undecipherable] Amount of Mon^s paid by the Sec^y of War up to the present time [undecipherable] Total amount of monies standing to his debit on the books of this Office [undecipherable] he has transacted accounts by himself & agents as follows — Samuel Hodgdons accounts as agent from the Quarter Master General while he filled in that capacity — Dol^s [undecipherable] James Wilkins accounts as agent from the commencement of his agency to the 31^st of March 1800 — [undecipherable] John Williams form Quarter master Gen^ls his accounts as settled by himself, the last Transmission was by his letter of the 1^st Nov^r 1799 — [undecipherable] Sundry suspended vouchers on settlement with the Treasury
