Advance of pay and subsistence Captain William MacRea
Document 1800Dexter refers to copy of letter from Captain William MacRea of Second Regiment Artillerists and Engineers. Dexter approves MacRea's request for settlement of his account.
The Secretary of WarJune 25.th 1800orders an advance of three months pay to Cap.t MacRea. [Editor’s Note: “4034” is written in the margin in a different hand.] War Department, 26 June 1800. Sir I enclose a Copy of a Letter received this morning from Capt.t William MacRea of the Second Regiment of Artillerists and Engineers. I am of opinion that his request of an advance of pay and subsistence is reasonable and ought to be granted: you will therefore be pleased to cause the porper measures to be taken to that effect, as soon as possible. Capt.t MacRea states that he has forwarded his accounts for Settlement.
