[Two] I take the liberty to inclose you [strikethrough: a two] power of Attorney, authorising you to act as my Attorney to receive the dividends as they become due, on all the funded debt of the U.S. which is now standing or may hereafter stand in my name in the books of the Commissioner of Loans for the State of Pennsylvania, also [undecipherable] to receive the dividends due or to grow due on all the shares of the capital or joint stock of the President Directors & Company of the Bank of the U.S. and to give acquittances for the same as well as to vote at any meeting for the choice of Directors, &c.
The funded debt of the U.S. held [at present] [strikethrough: consisting] of 6 pCents. 12,100. 6 pCents 12,299.98 [the other stock] 3 pCents. 6,970.90. & Deferd 7,647.39 — And [some] share in the Bank of the U.S.
You will be pleased to place to my credit in the Bank of the U.S. the dividends on the aforesaid debt and Bank shares as the same shall be received subject to my checks or drafts.
