Superintendent of Stores Philadelphia Springfield June 11^th 1800 Sir, I have endeavoured to converse with Mr. Ames on the subject relative of the Gun Barrels, refer to in your letter of the 30^th ultimo — he says it was fifteen hundred he requested you to forward — I believes they will come cheaper then they can be made ^for in the Factory — but declines drawing on me for them in the usual way — but from the representation of Col.
