Sir,
By the Mail this day from Boston, Have received your letter of the 28th ultimo enclosing two thousand Dollars in Post Notes, on account of this Armory.
The irregular manner of forwarding letters from the South and for this Post, by the way of Boston still continues — I am apprehensive the directions to the Post master at Hartford are not sufficiently explicit, or else they have not been duly attended to — The additional risk of remitting money for this Department in this round about way, is truly alarming & embarrassing — Your letter of notice dated 26th ulto came to hand in the same irregular way.
