Jun 2^nd 1800 Sir Your favour of the 30^th [undecipherable] last in [undecipherable]ing an Invoic of Sundry Mer- chandize came to hand this day, I rec'd one Waggon load of said Merchandize yesterday and daily expect more, I had wrote [strikethrough: undecipherable] to M^r [undecipherable], to go by last Post, requesting he would forward no more Goods [till?] [he?] [undecipherable] from me on the Subject, but my Letter did not go, the Post set out before the time, [the?] [undecipherable] Mail ought to be clos'd, I shall not write M^r [undecipherable] now, as its probable the Goods would be on the road before my letter could reach him — I have not seen an Indian for ten days past nor have [we] heard from Colo. Hawkins in that Time, he was to commence a Talk with the Nation yesterday, I fear we shall receive unfa- vorable Accounts from that Quarter.
