Sir,
I inclose you an account against the United States for Commission on purchases made by me by order of the Secretary of War — The Commission I have charged is not a compensation for my trouble having been personally obliged to buy the articles from 37 different People and to take duplicate Vouchers from each of them — I have been induced to state the account in this way supposing if any thing was allowed my present charge would — If so I presume the Account will be reported on and a Warrant issue in my favor —
I am Sir
