Sir,
In consequence of an order from General Wilkinson requiring me to endeavour to procure money to finish the payment of the troops up to the 28th February last, a copy of which I enclose you, I have received from Mr Hunt the sum of eighteen thousand five hundred and twenty five dollars for which I have given him such a receipt as This sum will be sufficient to enable you to pay the amount to him and charge the same to me —
