May 23^d 1800 Sir On the [undecipherable] of April 1799, you gave [pro?] this Office [undecipherable] to a [undecipherable] found in favor of the Treasurer of the United States, and by him transmitted to you, the first [undecipherable] of [undecipherable] the sum of one thousand Dollars on account of the [undecipherable: Notifications] at that place. Not having received any account [of?] the expenditure I have to request you will have the goodness to not agree them & request them to transmit to this Office as soon as convenient an account of the money disbursed [supported by?] suitable vouchers, in order that this account may be collected here at this Office— Sam D.— W.S.
