Document 1800Although Hamilton had not received official word, he heard Congress passed an act that disbanded 12 regiments and granted the officers and soldiers an allowance of three months pay from the time of their discharge. Requested Pinckney obtain the number of men willing to enlist in the "four old regiments of Infantry, or the regiments of Artillery."
