[Received / from / St. Dep^t / [undecipherable] / 4013.0] Pittsburg 9 May 1800 Dear Sir I have received your letter of the 2^d inst — that of the 28 ullt^o was acknowledged last post — but your letter of the 18^th ullt. has not come to hand — [undecipherable] on a review of transactions during the year 1798, some errors were discovered in my returns, in consequence of which I have made out & herewith transmit a correct return of Stores for April May and June of that year — and a correct return for the next quarter of the same year will [undecipherable] by next post — A great deal of pains have been taken [undecipherable: in re-examination] of former transactions and in taking a review of Stores on hand & also in rectifying any errors that may have crept in — Your removal to the new city will no doubt be a disagreeable business — but you may perhaps thereby escape the yellow fever — I have written to my friend [Col^o?] Forrest to transfer his power of Attorney to you — for re-ceiving the interest &c^a of my small stock in the funds I have directed him to call upon you, the first time he is in Town — I am Dear Sir, Your obed^t Servant [undecipherable] [Address:] Samuel Hogdon esq Philad^a
