[Accountants' Office?] May 9^th 1800 The Secretary of W^ar Sir A Warrant having issued by the Secretary of War in favor of Brig^t Sharp for the Sum of Seven thousand dollars on account of Armorers & furnaces: I called upon M^r Simms this day in your Office for a Copy of the Instructions to General his hand, the disbursement thereof; my request not having been complied with. I am therefore necessitated to call upon the Secretary of War. As you will readily be persuaded that I should be early furnished with information how this money is to be disbursed, that I may be enable to furnish him with the necessary forms for his, I ordering his accounts before he leaves the City; and inasmuch as he stands charged with a considerable Sum of money in this books of this Office, which he has not yet accounted for, either ratios are for that purpose & Sam H.
