Ebenezar Stevens Esqr Agent for the War Department at New York, has recd a bredet for two thousand forty five dol & 25/100, being the amount paid by him to you for the following purposes, Viz:-
For the pay of yourself & Detachments for April May & June 1799 $[undecipherable]
For the difference of Pay between artificers & Privates due to [sundry] artificers of your detachment . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [undecipherable]
and with which you stand charged on the Books of this Office,
I inform you at the same time that sd. Stevens, has lodged in this Office two Receipt roles which were transmitted to him by you in part of the latter sum due to the artificers of your Detachment & request that the Receipt rolls for the whole amount paid to you, may be transmitted to this Office without delay, to exonerate you from the amount standing to your debet —
