Sir, You will find this accompanied by two Abstract of Stores received from Philad^a &c. manufactured & purchased at this post, during July, August & September 1798 — together with like Abstracts of Stores issued forwarded from, or expended at this post, during same months, accompanied by the relative Vouchers within that period — viz Invoices of Stores forwarded Orders & Receipts for articles issued &c^a. You will observe that the Military, are in separate Abstracts from the Quarter Masters Stores — On reexamination of the Abstracts for April May & June 1798, Some Errors have been discovered which you will please to correct by the enclosed Certificate — I have been engaged all this week in taking a Review of the Quarter M^r Stores on hand at this post & in receiving them of Cap^t Heron, who had been appointed by the Quarter M^r General Storekeeper & Ass^t Qrmaster — his assistance the 2^d M.Gen. thinks now unnecessary, and that was my opinion, at the time of his appointment. As some small errors have been discovered in the Returns of Stores from the 1 April to 1 July 1798 — I shall have a correct return transmitted. by next post, and which will correspond with the Abstracts. I have not had the favor of a line from you by this days mail — I hope indisposition has not been the cause of my disappointment I am Sir, Your very obedient Hble Servant.
