I forward to you herewith copies of my letter to the Secretary of War of this date on the subject of allowances that have been made or admitted by you to certain Individuals & his reply thereto —
In conformity to his desire I request you will report to me in such particular and with your vouchers for the confirmations or allowances you have authorised or admitted that they may be laid before the Secretary of War — Sam. H.

April 24th 1800 Sir On the 30 May 1793 you received the Sum of five hundred thirty two Dollars & [undecipherable] from the Pay of 6 Detachments of Militia for Services rendered the United States in 1792 to enable me to pay said amount to your credit it is necessary for you to send forwarded the receipt of the Subofficials composing the said Detachments & which I request may be done as early as convenient that your account as [undecipherable] of Alleghany County may be closed on the Books of this Office — Sam.
