I received your letter of the 28th March with the printed regulations for the Quarter Masters Department which I Shall attend to also the Muster Rolls of Cornet George Lu Davidson from which pay rolls Shall be madeout agreable to pay and Emoluments of that period they were entitled to and discharged —— Lieut Swain the Regimental Quartermaster has applied to me for Inspection retu[undecipherable: returns] agreable to the New Form not having those on hand I have directed Some to be printed but whether they are to be indulged in those or to Join them I am at a loss to determine ——
Mr Hillis will enclose you Abstracts for Purchases made for the Quarter Masters Department From the 13th February to the 28th December 1799 amounting to — 2858.72
